ROAD TRIP 2008-2009... Charlotte, NC - Here we Come!

So, we started our drive to Charlotte from Chantilly, VA at 8:30 am. It was pretty uneventful until we stopped for lunch. We found a great little place called the Country Cookin, where all meals included a trip to the buffet/salad bar (which had soft serve ice cream for dessert too) and kids under 6 ate FREE. Now, this was my kind of place! Afterwards, we drove more until we arrived at the Comfort Suites in Pineville, NC (just a bit outside of Charlotte) at 4:00 pm. We had a dinner invitation from a man that Jonathan knows from Sterling and his lovely wife. We were provided with a wonderful homecooked meal by Mara and Russ Cobe. They also were so thoughtful and generous in giving the kids a Chanukah celebration while on the road. We lit candles and they gave very appropriate and well thought out gifts to each of the children. In fact, Benjamin and Joshua spent the whole ride from Charlotte to Orlando making paper airplanes using the instruction book that was given to them. And, of course, they flew their airplanes at every stop thereafter! We stayed at the Cobe's house rather late for the kids and they were pretty tired going to sleep at 9 pm, after a long day's drive... To be continued...
